Heat Pump Service

At Wasabi Group, we pride ourselves on being there for you if you have a fault or breakdown with your heat pump. Contact us to discuss your heat pump problem, and we'll discuss the solution. Often, the issue can be diagnosed over the phone. It could be something as simple as requiring new batteries for your remote or changing the mode from heating to cooling.

If we can't help over the telephone, we'll send out one of our service specialists to diagnose the issue and, if possible, repair it on the spot.

Additional materials required to complete the repair will then be discussed with you.

Heat Pump Maintenance

We can offer maintenance checks on all brands of heat pumps, ducted systems, multi-systems & ventilation (Lossnay, Smartvent systems).

For our heat pump maintenance, we recommend an indoor unit clean every 6 months and a combination indoor/outdoor heat pump clean every 12 months to keep your heat pump running at its optimum efficiency and clean from any bacterial germs and bugs.

Our 6 monthly Checks Include: (indoor only)

  • Clean and disinfect the filters and indoor unit casing with hospital-grade disinfectant.
  • Record the heating and cooling temperatures to see if the unit is working properly; unexpected temperatures can indicate a fault with the system.
  • Flush the indoor unit drain to confirm the drain is not obstructed and that the condensate pump, if connected, is working well.
  • Visual check of the system.

Our 12 Monthly Check Includes: (indoor and outdoor)

  • Clean and disinfect the filters and indoor unit casing with hospital-grade disinfectant.
  • Record the heating and cooling temperatures to see if the unit is working properly; unexpected temperatures can indicate a fault with the system.
  • Flush the indoor unit drain to confirm the drain is not obstructed and that the condensate pump, if connected, is working well.
  • Noise, vibration and refrigerant leak tests on both indoor and outdoor units.
  • Clean the casing on the outdoor unit, remove any spider webs, etc., and apply anti-bug spray around the unit. We do this to keep bugs from going onto control boards, as this will void the warranty and can cost around $800 - $1000 to repair.
  • Visually check the system and note any issues that need attention, i.e., if the insulation on pipes deteriorates, the drain on the outdoor unit is blocked, or there is rust on the outdoor unit casing.
  • If needed, an anti-rust spray of the outdoor casing.

Hydroclean

When you run your system on cooling, it creates moisture within the unit, which then mixes with the dust, leaving you with a perfect breeding ground for mould and bacteria, which then gets heated during winter. If you haven't quite kept on top of your heat pump maintenance or have just moved in, it is definitely worth getting a Hydo Clean done for you and your family's health.
